It was reported on
Saturday that the deputy inspector general's office of the Islamabad Police has

In a suicide bombing that
occurred in Islamabad's I-10/4 area on Friday, one police officer was killed
and at least six others were injured, including four other police officers and
two civilians.

the most recent development, the deputy inspector general of police asked the
Islamabad IG in a letter dated December 23 to set up a JIT to investigate the
suicide bombing.

and today's attack on police, the security of Islamabad has been upgraded to
negate the threats within the jurisdiction of capital which can disrupt peace

notification from the office of Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon. However,
it is possible that similar operations will occur soon.
The
deputy commissioner issued a ban on all forms of corner meetings, public
gatherings, and congregations considering the current circumstances,
particularly in light of the upcoming local government elections. The directive
was put into action right away and will last for two weeks.
Martyred police officer laid to rest
The body of Head Constable Syed Adeel Hussein, who was
killed in the attack yesterday, was buried today at Arifwala, in the Pakpattan
