HBL PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE 8 OPENING CEREMONY

Pakistan super league is a T20 league that takes place every year from February to March. It was started in 2015 in September by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), initially it had five teams now it has expanded to six teams representing six cities of Pakistan. The teams are as follows:

  • ·         Lahore Qalandars.
  • ·         Karachi Kings.
  • ·         Peshawar Zalmi.
  • ·         Multan Sultans.
  • ·         Quetta Gladiators.
  • ·         Islamabad United.

Recently, Lahore Qalandars won the PSL 7. Islamabad United has won two PSL, Peshawar Zalmi has won one, Multan sultan has won one, Karachi Kings has won one, and Quetta Gladiators has won one.

On 15th December, the PSL 8 team was selected, but it is important to keep in mind that player retention announcements were issued on 11th November. The first match of PSL 8 will be held on 13th February 2023 in Multan Cricket Stadium. The huge opening event will be held in Multan, taking on the reigning champions Lahore Qalandars in the opening game. Multan will be hosting opening ceremony Pakistan super league for the first time, usually Karachi hosts the opening ceremony for the tournament. There will be a total of 34 matches.

Four locations—Multan, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore—will host the competition from February 13 to March 19.  The clubs from all six franchises will also begin assembling their players on February 9 in order to hold practices. The first matches will take place simultaneously in Multan and Karachi and the tournament will end in Lahore. The PSL 8 player retentions have already been disclosed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
