of the Year award. On October 23, 2022, When Sharif was shot in Kenya while working on some important investigative cases, some sources claim that his death may have been a coincidence because the shot or bullet wasn't intended for him. However, it has since been established following a thorough investigation that there is a high likelihood that someone was engaged in his murder for personal gain.

For the judges' exclusive review in chambers, the police provided a 13-page interim report to the court regarding their investigation into the killing of journalist Sharif. The heads of the FIA and Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), and the secretaries of foreign affairs, the interior, and information have already received notifications from the SC bench for today.

The federal government sent a letter on reciprocal legal help on December 4. As stated by the court, officials are hoping for a positive response from the other nations concerning reciprocal legal cooperation.  The CJP hoped that the investigative team would come prepared to Kenya.  In addition to being present at the hearing, Sharif's spouse voiced concerns about a few JIT members, claiming they were subordinates of the defendants named in the investigation.  CJP Bandial replied that subordinates occasionally "could accomplish a work.   The JIT report includes numerous "deep points," according to the chief justice, which have been off-limits for consideration in court.

The JIT would examine the case from all angles, according to Justice Mandokhel. According to Justice Naqvi, the court was not meddling with the probe. "The court is allowing the JIT flexibility to investigate, and the problem should be looked into transparently since the court takes transparency inquiry extremely seriously."

High-ranking intelligence agencies, such as the Inter-Services Intelligence's Mohammad Aslam, Military Intelligence's Murtaza Afzal, FIA Cyber Crime Director Waqar-ud-Din Syed, and Intelligence Bureau Director General Sajid Kiyani make up the SJIT. The SJIT was established by the interior ministry to guarantee efficient foreign interaction and evidence gathering across numerous national and international jurisdictions. The secretariat for the SJIT meeting was meant to be the office of DIG headquarters.

As of the most recent updates, A 592-page fact-finding report that was initially given to the court stated that the murder was a "planned targeted assassination" that allegedly involved "transnational actors." Additionally, the investigators disputed the Kenyan police's claim that Mr. Sharif's death was a "case of mistaken identity."
